Day of the Homeland in Germany

“Tag der Heimat” means day of the homeland and is the day when the Germans celebrate the proclamation of the Charta der deutschen Heimatvertriebenen the 5th august 1950. It’s a day where everyone, no matter age, gender or race, comes together and stands for a better future not only for Germany, but also for the entire Europe. If you want your students to know more about this important day, use this template to explain the historical context of the moment, to speak about those who first signed the Charta or to explain in which different activities they can take part this year.
